The Science Department offers a comprehensive curriculum which adequately prepares students for college-level courses. The courses offered are Biology, AP Biology, Physics, Physics Honors, Chemistry, Pre AP Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Earth and Space. A minimum of three science credits, consisting of at least one life science and one physical science, is required for graduation.
Curriculum content includes both factual and abstract scientific concepts and challenges students to acquire, use, and evaluate data. The laboratory facilities and the use of graphing calculators enhance the students' hands-on involvement in the learning process. The friendly, open environment of the classrooms invites students to spend free time in these academic areas.
