The teaching staff of the History Department strives to give each student an understanding of Western Civilization from ancient times to the present, and more detailed knowledge of American history in the context of that civilization. The department realizes that history is much more than names, dates, and battles.

Emphasis is placed on the development of ideas and the analysis of historical trends. The department offers United States History, World History, Economics, Civics, American Government, History of World War II, and World Geography.
