Bus transporation is provided for students
As primarily a boarding school, Subiaco Academy offers three types of transportation for the students. The Academy has three buses, two vans, one mini-van, and three cars. The Academy has access to the parish van, in times of need. Subiaco Academy uses both monastic and lay personnel as drivers, and all bus drivers are professionals with CDL endorsements.
Subiaco Academy provides bus transportation for trips to and from area airports at the beginning and end of the school year, at holiday breaks, and in cases where students have need to leave, when approved by the Academy. The academy provides bus transportation to athletic events, Renaissance Day activities, school sponsored field trips, and recreational activities. The vans, mini-van, and cars are used to provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, store runs, and trips to testing sites for ACT, SAT, etc. Subiaco Academy does not provide daily bus routes for the day students who attend the Academy.
Cost of transportation is derived from mileage, cost of fuel, and vehicle maintenance. While the Academy charges for these trips, it is done at a loss to the Academy.
