Subiaco Academy is proud to announce that Max Linares will be in concert in the Abbey Church of St. Benedict performing on the organ on Monday, March 13, at 7:30 pm.
Max is currently studying organ performance and church music at the University of Kansas with Dr. James Higdon, Jr. , a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. He also receives private instruction from Olivier Latry, titular organist of Notre Dame and Artist-in-Residence at KU. In addition, he takes carillon lessons with the University Carillonneur, Elizabeth Berghout. Max has given two organ recitals and two carillon recitals at KU. His long-term goal is to study abroad in France and play the authentic instruments for which much of the organ repertoire was written. After graduation, he plans to teach organ at the University level. Last summer, Max was the organist and pianist at First United Methodist Church in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Max is a 2021 graduate of Subiaco Academy. While at the Academy, he studied the organ during his senior year with Beau Baldwin, and started piano lessons with him during his junior year.
The concert is free and open to the public.
