Camp Subiaco is a summer camp for boys between the ages of 9 and 13. Since 1941 Camp Subiaco has served boys with a proven program of recreational activities with life experiences that has satisfied thousands of boys of all races and creeds.
We have two summer Camp sessions which are one week long. Campers are divided into two distinct divisions for each session “The Trojans” and “The Ravens”. Each division has been designed to accommodate the needs and experience of our campers. Campers are assigned to a division and then to a group based on age and elementary school grade level. Over the many years, we have had campers repeat their experience time and time again. After age 13 some of campers have enjoyed their experience so much that they have gone on to become students of Subiaco Academy and eventually Subiaco Alumni.

SUBIACO ALUMNUS TO SPEAK TO ACADEMY JUNIORS AND SENIORS

Mike Monahan, a 1985 graduate of Subiaco Academy, be will returning to Subiaco this Friday, February 10, for a retreat. While on The Hill, Mr. Monahan will be speaking to current Academy juniors and seniors about college choices, majors, and careers, as well as about drafting college essays.
For undergraduate studies, Mr. Monahan attended The University of Chicago and then law school, becoming a lawyer in a Chicago courtroom for 8 years. He worked on advancements in forensic science with DNA and was a featured speaker at the FBI and American Academy of Forensic Sciences while consulting for Interpol, Scotland Yard, the Justice Department and the Department of Defense. He joined the Chicago Police Department as its top lawyer and worked with a team charged with reducing crime in Chicago by 30% in one year or they would all be fired. He wrote the "Chicago Study," which analyzed patterns of serial killers in Chicago and how forensic science could be used to reduce crime. The study was entered into the Congressional Record when he worked in Congress on the passage of the Federal DNA Testing Act of violent offenders in the Violence Against Women Act of 2004. He became a Special Assistant to the Mayor of Chicago working with legislators on economic access, growing minority-owned businesses, as well as improving race and gender equality.
After attending business school at Northwestern University, he joined UBS, Switzerland's largest bank, and worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Zurich, Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco for 13 years. After raising his teen sons, he retired at 50 and became a high school teacher in Austin, TX, for the joy of helping teens. He is also an adjunct professor of ethics at Texas A&M University. In summers, he teaches at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
