Today we near the end of our Lenten journey with a lunch fast, a reflective service for our student body, and opportunities for the sacrament of reconciliation before our students head home for Easter break. Throughout this season, our students embraced the spirit of sacrifice and service in meaningful ways. They participated in Penny Wars, chose to fast from lunch and donate the cost of those meals, and sold t-shirts designed to express solidarity with the School of San Benito in Guatemala. Their efforts raised funds to help provide education for girls in Guatemala—a powerful witness to faith in action and the value of education as a transformative force. Scores have been tallied… and we have a winner of the DaVinci Award! Congratulations to Team Puentes de Hermanos, the champions of our STEAM Spaghetti Bridge Competition! This winning team was made up of Nathan Aquilar, Julian Gamino, and Kanaan Nehus. Their bridge stood out for its exceptional teamwork, creative and cohesive design, a standout team logo, strong structural engineering, and a compelling, well-executed presentation. Well done, Puentes de Hermanos! Some bonus photos here to show the hardwork and fun the students had with this project. Even Br. Anatomy and Physiology students had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with mammalian respiratory systems. Some of the students loved the experience, and others may be rethinking their career path. It was a great day in the lab learning through inquiry!
